How I built a news portal using GPT-4 to generate objective articles from international sources. Technical architecture, potential, and ethical challenges.
The idea: objective and transparent information Factum.info was born from a simple question: can we use AI to create more objective information? Traditional journalism is often influenced by editorial biases, commercial pressures, and the need to produce viral content. I wanted to explore a different approach: a system that collects news from authoritative sources, analyzes them, and presents them in a structured way, clearly separating facts from interpretations.
Technical Architecture
1. Source Engine (Python) The heart of the system is a Python engine that: Monitors 18 RSS feeds from international outlets (Reuters, BBC, Guardian, NYT, Al Jazeera, Nature, Wired, MIT Technology Review) Evaluates importance of each news item with a scoring algorithm based on keywords, source credibility, and freshness Deduplicates similar news to avoid repetition
2. Article Generation (GPT-4) Selected news items are processed by GPT-4 with a specific prompt requiring neutral tone, distinction between facts and uncertain points, source analysis, context, and possible future developments.

The Factum Format Each article follows a rigid structure: Summary, Confirmed facts, Uncertain points, Source analysis, Context, Analysis, Possible developments.
Project Potential Unlike regular aggregators, the system synthesizes and compares information from multiple sources. It can scale to hundreds of feeds, real-time analysis, and multilingual coverage.
Ethical Considerations Transparency is crucial - readers must know articles are AI-generated. Every article cites original sources and distinguishes facts from interpretations.
Conclusions Factum.info demonstrates that AI can aggregate information, structure news transparently, and separate facts from opinions at scale. The future of journalism will likely be a hybrid : AI for collection and preliminary analysis, humans for verification and critical context.
